MLSS are officially Cross City Heroes!

MLSS Awarded Cross City Heroes Award

The Midland Langar Seva Society team have managed to outdo themselves once again, proving the project and team as a whole to be a vital and successful part of the wider Midlands communities today.

As mentioned on the West Midlands Railway website, 24 notable groups and charities based in and around the West Midlands areas will be receiving a special recognition at local Cross City line stations throughout the Summer, beginning towards the end of May.

This recognition comes straight from the good will of the local people, who over the last few months have put forward their nominations.

MLSS Cross City Heroes Award

We
are extremely proud and blessed to be of the chosen organisations picked, in this instance specifically winning for the Blake Street area, but also for the initial consideration.

As a winning organisation, we will be awarded a plaque of recognition at one of the designated stations, a fantastic chance and opportunity to visit the brand new trains and lines being currently built for the Derby area, which should be ready for action by 2021 as well as a complimentary ticket for the team which will allow for journeys in and around the West Midlands in order to aid with any and all fundraising activities, but for us personally, our weekly feeds.

This will help us immensely with the continuation and delivery of our projects and enable us to easily meet with other West Midlands based volunteers, along with our MLSS Service Bus also being part of this enhanced team we have at the moment.

Finally, a quick thank you to all our volunteers who continuously dedicate their time and efforts each and every week, even in bad conditions, to bring positivity to the feeds, our fundraising endeavours as well as to those we meet along the way who need lifting up.

It's being part of a community like this and working, unified together which has brought such a favourable outcome to us all.
